FitFusion Streaming Workouts Review: Strala Core with Tara Stiles


FitFusion is an online streaming workout site that has SO MANY fab workout options from instructors we know & love. FitFusion gives you JNL Fusion, Jillian Michaels, Mike Donavanik, Jennifer Galardi, Ilyse Baker, Andrea Orbeck, Zuska Light, Viveca Jensen, and SO MANY more! They offer strength workouts, cardio, cycling, ballet, yoga, pilates, dance and MORE! FitFusion: Strala Core
Tara Stiles

Tara works out alone in a spacious area with a nice view. You will only need an optional mat for this pilates style core routine. Besides a few forward folds, this is done entirely on the floor. 

After warming up, exercises include seated breathing, down dog, plank, side plank, dolphin walk ins, down dog dropping to your forearms, 3 leg dog to plank knee pull variations, cobra to childs pose, plank drop to floor & push up, hand stand variations, forward fold sways, crow, boat, v drop with rotation, supine L leg hold, boat pulses, happy baby, plank to side plank, wheel, and concludes with a stretch.  

This is an advanced routine. There is a lot of plank and side plank work -so be prepared to burn out those shoulders in addition to your core- nice bonus! You can tell Tara is having fun in this one, which is great to see! I received access to this workout for review.

My favorite way to use Chia seeds is to make overnight oats. They are perfect for busy mornings, the warmer months, and camping (my go to camping breakfast!)

  • Overnight Oats: 
  • 1/4 cup raw oats
  • 1 TBS chia seeds
  • 2/3 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 2 txp PB2 (divided)
  • 1/2 tbsp honey
  • splash vanilla

Place in a jar or container with a lid and store in refrigerator overnight. Enjoy the next morning. There are a ton of varieties online for different flavors!

Cathe Friedrich's NEW Strong & Sweaty Total Body Giant Sets Review

 Cathe's latest set: Strong and Sweaty! The set contains five DVDs and an optional cycling DVD. The DVDs are also available individually. This set is a high intermediate to advanced series containing 77 premixes and a bonus ab routine. The premixes include upper or lower body only, higher and lower impact cardio, various timesaver options, and more. The series contains different training methods to shock and challenge your muscles and work your cardio and modifications are offered. Read all of my Cathe Strong and Sweaty Reviews.

Strong and Sweaty: Total Body Giant Sets

Cathe works out with 4 background exercisers in her usual studio for this 51 min strength workout. You will need dumbbells, a barbell, gliding discs (or alternative) and a stability ball for this workout. You perform 5 lower body exercises alternating with 5 upper body exercises, working one muscle group at a time.

After a warm up exercises include: squats, glider dips, plies, glider side lunges, dead lifts, overhead press, upright row, upper back fly, incline front raise, seated lat raises, wide stance deadlifts, glider curtsy lunges, diagonal lunges, static lunges, unweighted glider warrior lunges, single arm row, ribcage pullover, pec fly, incline chest press, push ups, unweighted low runners lunge knee pulls using the discs, glider side lunges putting down & picking up your weight, overhead tricep extensions, tricep bench press, lying overhead tri drops, seated W curls, incline hammer curls, and concludes with a stretch using the ball. 

Going as heavy as Cathe & team, this is a lower advanced workout, but adjust your weights to make the workout work for you. I like the use of the ball & gliding discs for variety. The routine contains all effective exercises, there is no fluff and very little rest between moves so your heart rate will be up. This is a little lower body heavy but does hit all the upper body muscles. You do squats & deadlifts a few times but otherwise this has very little There is no ab work, but the S&S ab routine is on this disc. I did NOT receive this dvd to review.

FitFusion: Tae Bo Gloves
Billy Blanks

Billy leads this 30 min cardio boxing routine in a boxing gym with a group of background exercisers. You will only need boxing gloves for this routine, though they are totally optional. 

After an active warm up, exercises include fast feet, foot work, jabs, twisting jabs, punches moving forward and back, upper cuts, hooks. elbow strikes, triple punch & shuffle combo, speed bag with soccer kicks, boxers shuffle, lateral shuffle & low punches adding a stomp, superman punches, free boxing and concludes with each participant doing one on one punches with Billy before a quick cool down. 

Billy provides lots of tempo changes to keep it interesting without being overly complicated. The choreo is easy to catch on to and Billy provides active demos for each little combo. You will see Shelley excitedly participating and often leading the 1-8 counting that we all know & love. This is a fun steady state cardio boxing routine. This is from the Tae Bo TV channel so it is not available on DVD- a great addition to FitFusion.  I received this workout to review.

Deborah Sweets

Deborah & 2 backgrounders work out barefoot in a warehouse style set. Modifications are shown by one exerciser. You will not need any equipment for this 16 min ballet/standing pilates & strength fusion workout.

After a warm up exercises include: knee raises & pulses, lunge pulses adding a rear leg raise, static lunge & tiwst, calf raises adding knee raises, pilates stance inner thigh raise, curtsy knee up & side lunge, close stance plie raising on your toes, toe stance plie pulses. You will need to add your own cool down to the routine. 

I rate this a solid intermediate routine. Deborah adds big arms to get the heart rate up and varies the tempo to keep it interesting. Good pace and Deborah keeps things moving right along so you can get a little burn going in only 15ish minutes. I received access to this workout for review.
